James Butler
Director
James is one of the co-founders of Safety
Ireland. But his medical training started back in 1982
when he did a First Aid course with the Order of Malta
Ambulance Corps.
In 1993 James left the hotel industry and
attended Northeastern University's Emergency Medical
Technician course, which was the first EMT course held in
Ireland. After completing the course he started work with
Waverly Ambulance Service which was based in St. James'
Hospital Dublin. Then he moved to Kimmage Ambulance
Service and then to Medicall Private Ambulance Service, where he
held the position of Base Ambulance Controller.
After that he also did work for Voyagers Assistance of
Bromley, Kent, UK, doing Medical Repatriations for
three years. |

Audrey Brereton
Director - Health & Safety Training
Department
Audrey is one of the co-founders of Safety
Ireland back in 2001. She attended Northeastern University's
Emergency Medical Technician course in 1998 and did her
internship with the Dublin Fire Brigade. She then went on to
work for Medicall Private Ambulance Service for two years.
The following year was spent between St. Vincent's
University Hospital Dublin and Voyagers Assistance of
Bromley, Kent, UK, doing Medical Repatriations. In 2007 she
completed a diploma in Safety Health & Welfare at Work with
University College Dublin, and is a graduate member of IOSH. |

PJ Carroll
Senior Instructor - Training Department
Patrick John Carroll after leaving school joined the Permanent Defence Forces
where he serviced for twelve
years, including overseas tours with the United Nations
Peacekeeping Force. After discharge from the Army he joined Waverly Ambulance Service
were he stayed for ten years and held the position of
supervisor and was responsible for the operations of the
company.
In 1993 he attended Northeastern University's first
Emergency Medical Technician course in Ireland. PJ then
worked for three years as an EMT Instructor with the
University which included training with New York Fire
Department paramedics. He then worked for Voyagers
Assistance of Bromley, Kent, UK, doing Medical Repatriations for three
years.
PJ joined Safety Ireland in 2009. |

David Bride
Instructor - First Aid & Health & Safety
David trained as an Instructor with Safety Ireland in
2008 and has been with us ever since as a full-time
Occupational First Aid and Irish Heart Foundation
Instructor / BLS Instructor. Before joining Safety Ireland he worked for
Smurfit in Dublin where he was responsible for Induction and
Safety Training. |

Dave Ivers
Instructor - First Aid, Manual Handling,
Patient Moving & Handling
Dave comes from a background in
Neuromuscular Therapy and Sports Injuries, and completed his Occupational First Aid
Instructor course with us in early 2010 along with the Irish
Heart Foundation Instructor programme, he never went away so
we finally gave him a job. Dave recently
finished his training as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) |

Zara Mahon
Office Manager - Instructor - First
Aid, Health & Safety
While working in the Department of Justice,
Zara decided to advance her training that she had received
as an active member of the St John Ambulance Brigade. She
became an Occupational First Aid Instructor and in 2008
joined Safety Ireland, and later became an Irish Heart
Foundation BLS Instructor. She recently completed a Fetac
Level 5 in Safety Health and Welfare at Work, with a view to
extending to Safety Awareness courses and Manual Handling
Training. Zara keeps all of our instructors in line. They don't
cross Zara! |

Deirdre Carroll
Office Assistant - First Aid Instructor
Deirdre comes from a background in Sales in
First Aid equipment. After a few years as a housewife, Dee
decided to re-enter the workforce and came to work for
Safety Ireland full time in September 2011, after previously
teaching for us as an Occupational First Aid Instructor on a
part time basis. |

Eibhlín Keenehan
Office Assistant
Eibhlín is originally from Roscommon,
Eibhlín worked as an Office Manager in a PR Company in
Dublin for four and half years.
In 2005, she went to Australia on a year out and returned to
work in an Insurance Company as a Regional Sales
Administrator
for over five years. |
