We at Safety Ireland are delighted to offer this unique course on our fully equipped Ford Wilker Ambulance with fully operational tail lift.

This course is open to all those who hold a current Occupational First Aid certificate or above, or Occupational First Aid Instructor certificate. The course is designed to enhance existing knowledge and to provide new skills in emergency care.

Any person interested in a career in the Ambulance Service whether its private, public or voluntary will find this programme invaluable.

This course would also be beneficial to instructors or individuals looking for an insight to the workings of an emergency ambulance here in Ireland.

Course outline:

This course is an introduction to the Ambulance Service in Ireland including AHA / IHF Health Care Provider course and advanced patient assessment.  This course will be mainly practical & hands on, using equipment such as bvm’s, oxygen therapy, Blood Pressure monitoring, spinal immobilisation, splinting, and KED. The course includes scenario based ambulance transfers in and out of the ambulance, including the use of a stretcher, carrying chair, scoop stretcher, collars and back boards.

This is a 2 day course with a certificate of attendance issued on completion. The start time is 9:00am and finish time is 5:00pm. All thoses attending will need to be in good health and we recommend you wear comfortable clothing and shoes as there will be a lot of practical skills performed over the course duration.  Some practical elements of the course will be conducted outdoors, so we would suggest wearing warm clothing for typical Irish temperatures!!

Just contact us and we will arrange an Instructor for your own location. All we need is a room suitable for the group size.  The minimum number of participants for this course is 12, for larger groups we can send additional Instructors. This course can also be run for your group at our training centre in Terenure, Dublin. This course can be tailored for your group/company own needs.

English is the language that the training in provided in and participants must have a good understanding of the English language, in the case where this is not so participants are permitted to bring an interpreter they may do so but prior notice must be give to Safety Ireland.
